Simulink for power electronic devices

What is it?

  • Power electronics simulation with Simulink lets you model complex topologies with multiple switching devices using standard circuit components.
  • Building on MATLAB’s Simulink provides a platform for engineers to plan, model, design, simulate, test and implement dynamic control, signal processing and communication systems.
  • Learn how to simulate and analyse power electronic devices with this “Simulink for power electronic devices” workshop.
  • The use of Matlab for HV systems will taught. Basics and a few complex topics that can be accomplished via Simulink will be covered.
  • A good foundation in Matlab, Electronics and Power Electronics will be established through this workshop.

  • Course Content

  • Introduction to Simulink for power electronics.
  • Introduction to Rectifiers and its simulations in Simulink
  • Introduction to DC to DC converter and its simulations in Simulink.
  • Introduction to AC to AC converter and its simulations in Simulink.
  • Introduction to Inverter and its simulations in Simulink.
  • Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of electric circuit theory & electrical components (resistor, inductor and capacitor).
  • Creating a mathworks account beforehand is recommended.
